“Don’t invite them in!” she said

“They’ll catch you in their jaws!

They just won’t take one bite – oh no!

They’ll crush you in their paws.

 

“Don’t give them an inch!” she said

“They’ll want the whole damn mile!

They will try to beguile you

And distract you with a smile”

 

“‘Don’t give them the tea and cake

And don’t roll out the rug – 

If you relax your guard,” she said

“They’ll squish you like a bug!”

 

“Do close all your windows

And do lock all your doors.

Please put the latch across it now – 

Don’t look at their sharp claws!”

 

“Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Don’t say I never cared!

And don’t come running to me my lad

A-screaming that you’re scared!”
