Caedere

Standard

I raise my glass to your blank stare;
The crystal sparkles in the light.
You seem to have lost your appetite so
I offer my fork but you silently decline.
I slice, chew and occasionally glance
At your wordless mouth;
Droplets of water run down your cheeks
Like tears of joy – you are happy?
Aren’t you?
I know you didn’t want to leave;
She would never have made you happy.
We both knew that it wasn’t the end.
So now you’re back – for good!
Your suitcase languishes in the hallway
Its service is no longer required.
Time for bed my love.
I whisper “Goodnight”
As I close the freezer lid.

Rain is never bad
It makes flowers grow up high
And gives us rainbows
