NaPoWriMo 2020 – 15 – Song of Summer

Standard

Deep rich tones

Discordant but resolving

To awaken the morning

Clear blue sky

Still and calm

The flutes are seagulls

“Taaa ta taaaaa”

Sitting on the cliff edge

Surrounded by heather

Ebb and flow

Washing up the shore

Buzzing and humming

Oboe and strings

Flowing back down

Strings! Strings and flute!

“In “B” Fenby!”

Based on ‘Song of summer’ by Delius and ‘Delius’ by Kate Bush

NaPoWriMo 2020 – 11 – Deadly Nightshade

Standard

Beware the Belladonna

Lovely lady dark and fair

There is danger in her manner

There is starlight in her hair

Take care not to linger

When she beckons you to stay

Her toxic lips are deathly

You’d be wiser not to stray

Of course she is enticing

Of course you want to taste

But if you value your own life

Run away – far away! Make haste!

Beware the Belladonna

She’s beautiful – it’s true

But deep behind those tempting eyes

She plots the end of you.
